Dog Stairs for Bed

A small dog who has always jumped onto the bed will keep jumping until there is an easier route up. These foam steps give one: a soft, stable staircase set against the side of a bed or sofa that turns a leap into a short climb. Two heights are made, a two-step at 52 x 41 x 29 cm and a three-step standing 34 cm tall on a 55 x 40 cm base, so the top step can be matched to the furniture.

Inside is high-density cotton foam, firm enough that the steps hold their shape under a dog rather than folding underneath. The top surface is anti-slip fleece for grip under paws and the base carries an anti-slip nylon pad, which stops the unit skating away on wood, tile or laminate as a dog pushes off. The stairs arrive vacuum packed; unwrap them and allow up to 48 hours for the foam to expand back to full size before use.

The cover is pineapple velvet, removable and machine washable, so muddy paw prints and shed hair go through a normal wash cycle. The sizing suits small breeds, cats and older pets who would rather not jump; it is not built to carry a large dog. Set it against the furniture on a level floor, and stay nearby for the first few climbs while your dog works out the steps.
