Heavy Duty Adjustable Door Stopper

A door left open for airflow will swing shut in the first draught, taking the handle into the plaster on its way. This stopper is a zinc alloy wedge that fixes to the floor and holds the door exactly where you left it, whether that is wide open for ventilation or stopped short of the wall. At 2.4 by 1.5 by 2.4 inches with an ultra-thin profile, it stays out of the way until a door needs holding.

Mounting is your choice. The adhesive pad is enough for tile, sealed wood and other smooth floors and needs no drilling, while the two screws supplied give a permanent fix that will not shift on any surface. The height adjusts to bridge door gaps up to 0.98 inches, which covers most interior and exterior doors. Once the stop is engaged, the locking mechanism holds the door still, so there is no rattle in the frame and no slow drift closed when the wind gets up.

Zinc alloy was chosen over plastic because the whole load of a heavy door passes through one small contact point every time it is caught. Six finishes are offered, in black, gray, gold, bronze, nickel and white, so it reads as door hardware rather than an add-on.
