Anyone renting, or simply unwilling to run cable, ends up with lamps where the outlets are rather than where the light is wanted. This wall light sits on a magnetic ball base with a 2000mAh battery behind it, so it goes up beside a bed, over a workbench or along a hallway with no wiring involved.

The magnet lets the head swivel a full 360 degrees and hold whatever angle you leave it at, so the beam can be aimed at a book, a wall or a work surface. Touch the face to step through three brightness levels and three color temperatures: 2700K warm, 4000K neutral and 5700K cool. After 30 seconds of running, it memorizes the setting and comes back to it next time. Twenty-four LEDs spread the output, which keeps it flicker-free and easy on the eyes through a long reading session.

Mount it with the 3M adhesive pad for a damage-free fix, or with the three screws for something permanent. The head lifts off the base to charge over Type-C in two to three hours and runs 8 to 20 hours per charge depending on brightness; it also works while plugged in. At 2.95 by 1.77 inches it barely registers on the wall, and it comes in black, white or wood.
