Description

Dining chairs are the usual reason a hardwood floor picks up a halo of fine scratches around the table. These square caps slip over the foot of each leg and put a layer between the timber and the furniture, so the scuffing, denting and grit-dragging that happens every time somebody pushes back from the table stops at the cap instead of reaching the floor. The same protection applies on laminate, tile and vinyl.

The square profile is the point. A round cup fitted to a square leg works itself loose and twists, while this shape seats squarely on the foot and grips all four faces, so it neither spins nor drops off halfway through a meal. The S size fits legs measuring 0.75 to 1.0 inch across. Fitting is a matter of stretching each cap over the foot by hand, with no glue and no felt discs to peel off and replace. Once they are on, chairs glide rather than catch, and the scrape that carries across a whole room goes quiet.

There are 24 in the set, enough for six four-legged chairs, or a mix of chairs, a desk and a couple of stools. They pull off for cleaning and push back on afterwards, so grit caught underneath gets wiped away rather than ground in. They are intended for hard flooring; on carpet there is nothing to scratch and little to gain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why square rather than round?

A round cup fitted to a square leg works itself loose and twists. The square profile seats on the foot and grips all four faces, so it stays put.

What leg size do they fit?

The S size fits legs measuring 0.75 to 1.0 inch across, which covers most dining chairs.

How do I fit them?

Stretch each cap over the foot of the leg. There is nothing to glue, screw or measure beyond checking the leg width.

Do they work on floors other than wood?

Yes. The same protection applies on laminate, tile and vinyl, where grit under a chair leg does just as much damage.

Will they make chairs harder to move?

They let a chair slide rather than drag, which is exactly what stops the scuffing and denting when someone pushes back from the table.
