Description
Standing a cob on end and running a knife down it sends kernels skidding across the worktop and puts your knuckles close to the blade. This peeler works the other way round: hold the cob flat and draw the tool along the rows, the way you would peel a carrot. The kernels lift off in strips and stay where you want them instead of scattering.
The blade is wide enough to catch three or four rows in a single pass, so a whole cob is stripped in about a minute. Line the head up with the rows, press down and slide, then turn the cob and go again. A slight side-to-side swing lets the serrated edge follow the curve of the cob and pick up the shallow kernels near the tip that a straight pull would leave behind.
The body is food-grade 304 stainless steel and the serrated blade is 420 stainless, held together with embedded rivets rather than clips, so nothing works loose after a few seasons of use. The steel is mirror polished, which stops wet kernels sticking to it and means it rinses clean in seconds. The handle is brushed for grip, which matters most when your hands are wet, and a hanging hole in the end lets it live on a rail rather than lost in a drawer.

Kernels Off In Seconds
Lay the cob flat and draw the tool along the rows, the way you would peel a carrot. The blade catches three or four rows at a time, so a whole cob is done in a handful of passes.
Hands Stay Clear Of The Blade
Standing a cob upright and running a knife down it puts your knuckles right beside the edge. Working flat keeps the blade travelling away from your hand the whole time.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use it?
Hold the cob flat on a board and draw the peeler along the rows, exactly like peeling a carrot. The kernels lift off in strips instead of skidding across the worktop.
How many rows does it take at once?
The blade is wide enough to catch three or four rows in a single pass, which is why a full cob takes seconds rather than careful minutes with a knife.
Does it work on raw and cooked corn?
Both. Raw cobs strip cleanly for freezing or frying, and cooked cobs come off just as easily once they have cooled enough to handle.
How do I clean it?
Rinse it under the tap straight after use and dry it. There are no moving parts or joints for kernel husks to hide in, so it cleans in seconds.
Is it safe to use quickly?
Yes, because the cob lies flat and the blade travels away from you. That is the main reason people find they can go fast with it in a way they never would with a knife.
